Bio sketch

I am a PhD student at Ecole Centrale de Paris since May 2009. I work under the supervision of Matthew B. Blaschko and co-supervision of Nikos Paragios in the field of machine learning at Center for Learning and Visual Computing. Before moving to France, I finished my Bachelor degree in Computer Science in 2006 and my Master of Science in Computer Science with specialization in Biomedical Informatics and Technology and Information Systems in 2009 from the Computer Science Department of the University of Crete in Greece. During both my undergraduated and graduated studies in Greece, I held a student fellowship from Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas working at the Computational Biology Research Group, IMBB, FORTH under the supervision of Poirazi Panagiota.

Research Interest

My research interests include mainly machine and statistical learning, bioinformatics and graph theory and secondly information and database systems. During my master and phd studies I focused in applying machine learning and statistical methods in medical and biological data.
